96 850t coolant temp sensor wiring question.

Post by rguzz »

Someone before me beat up the connection to the new sensor (broke the connector) so the question is, one brown wire, one yellow wire to the connector from the motor side does it matter if they are switched? This would mean the wires to the CTS might not be as originally designed. Thanks.

The polarity in the ECT is not important.
Just get good crimp connector and hook it up.
Another option is junk yard connector, then use "butt connectors" to joint the new connector to the existing wiring.

Good, thanks. Connection is tight, plastic housing on the wiring to ECT is beat up but nicely wrapped in electrical tape, clipped so it won't flop around.
