I've asked within separate threads, but I think this will get more attention.
Does ANYONE have a pinout for the TCM/TCU for a 1998 S/V/C70? I've gone over several wiring diagrams, and I haven't seen a pinout for the TCM. I've exhausted just about every forum, and I can't find anything.

The connector itself isn't damaged, at least I don't think it is. I'd like a pinout to see what each of the pins are for, like where a power wire to the TCM is. I am trying to test them to see where there may be breaks, and a pin diagram would be VERY helpful.cn90 wrote:What happens? Was the connector damaged?
Your best bet is to visit a junk yard and pull the connector from there.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like many people have had to tear apart the ECU/TCU connectors, so there aren't too many resources for that.

The best test for the TCU is a junk yard unit, which is very cheap these days, about $15-$25 or so.
If in doubt, visually check the pins and spray something to clean them first.
What are the symptoms?

I hate to just throw all of this at you, but these threads have a list...

I've already tested another unit from the junkyard with no changes.

I see,
If you suspect the wiring loom, then I guess the best bet is to get a wiring loom from junk yard or ebay?
Below is a link from Volvo 850, which should be identical to 1998 S70:

Yeah, my issue with replacing the loom is that the main wiring harness is MASSIVE! I guess I could splice it in that smaller area if I need to, though. We'll see what happens.cn90 wrote:I see,

To everyone else, I'm still looking for that pinout... I'd rather not get some Chinese software off eBay that requires a scavenger hunt, virtual machine, Internet Explorer version 11.doesn'texistyet.3, and 30 gigabytes of memory that can't guarantee that I'll even get what I need out of it.

Replacing the wiring from the transmission to TCM is not bad. The entire transmission wiring is connected to the second half of the TCM connector board. Pull the board and all the wiring follows it. I took off way to much stuff then needed, but at least I found the problem.

Interesting. I might just pull the wires and see what I find for that matter. When your refer to the second half, you mean the front half (closest to bumper)?tryingbe wrote:Replacing the wiring from the transmission to TCM is not bad.
