The radio on my 1989 760 turbo wagon appears to be working fine. However when I connect the 6-pin connector the rear speakers create a loud repeating sound -- like a loud machine gun. The front door speakers do not appear to work -- I only get sound through the 2 dash speakers, no other. The fader in the sr7145 appears to work in that when I send the signal to the rear speakers the front speakers fade to almost nothing. No sound from the rear speakers, or the door speakers.
Has anyone ever come across this situation? Would it be the speakers being 'blown' and providing feedback?
I have tried a good sr7145 and the same issue -- only when the 6-pin plug is connected does the machine-gun loud sound come from the rear speakers.
Thanks for any ideas on this.

See: sr-7145 stereo question
I'd really have to see a schematically view of it, but you might post your question in this forum. It would be nice to have some type of overview of this system, or a schematic showing various parts involved when asking a question.
