2006 Volvo V70 2.5T Front Suspension

I ordered new front struts for my car and then tried to order new front springs. The front ride height looked like it had dropped a little. I can't believe just how many different springs could go on that car!!! I called the dealer with my VIN and he provided the OEM part numbers for the different components. Now I find out that there are different struts that are VIN determined. Does everybody go through this brain damage with suspension or is there something key that I missed that would make life simpler?

I find MVS sponsor IPDUSA http://www.ipdusa.com to be most trusted and precise since they only sell Volvo parts. IPD is always my first choice after local Volvo dealership parts.

With others you need to lower the risk of fitment and return before ordering.

You need your VIN and the chassis code to get your exact springs

Don't waste your time/money on aftermarket suspension parts, unless it is a known-to-be OE supplier, like Sachs, Lesjofors or Lemforder.

I would also say stay away from any white sticker Boge or Sachs strut. Go only with the blue sticker ones.

Thanks for the great advice. I measured the front of the car several times over a couple of days and it looks like the front height is just fine. I looked at ipd and their cross reference for a couple of the 2006 struts went to a Sachs Blue Label strut. Parts came in today and I'm looking at putting them on sometime over the weekend. I'll let you know how it worked out!

Can you elaborate on this? I see both white and blue sticker units being offered and wondering what the difference is. Thanks.
