Passing emission test: iPD flash vs ARD and others

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Passing emission test: iPD flash vs ARD and others

Post by biohazrd76 »

Are any of you using an ard tune, what level and size turbo? I have an ipd stage 1 tune, my car has to pass emissions.... I don't know if a major tune will pass the tests. Smoke test that is.

If the test is at idle it will have no bearing whatsoever. Only when extra boost is called for does a tune/bigger turbo come into play. Parameters for extra boost are load and torque demand on the ME7 system. At idle nothing is changed.

If your car doesn't pass emissions do a Stage 0 maintenance and see if it flies after that. If your airfilter looks old/dirty remove it for the test.
