96 850 Upper Engine Mount Question

Post by eriscentro »

This week I finally had some time (and the tools!) to work on the car. First and foremost, I wanted to get my upper engine mount taken care of. I purchased the lemforder OEM mount from FCP, and after much frustration, I finally got it installed this afternoon. After removing our pressing setup, I realized that the mount was upside down, such that the arrow was pointing down on the driver side. We had it setup properly initially, although at some point amidst all of the frustration the mount must have gotten flipped. Do you guys think this is a big issue? If so, we could cut the mount out and get a new one, but we'd rather not.

I have seen a lot of these installed in various orientations. Usually broken though, I might add. I would just leave it and start driving, I suspect the only negative is it may break sooner. Cut it out and replace it at that time. It isn't going to stress the other mounts, it is the weakest link in the mount chain.
