I have a 00 S80. I bought this at auction drove it home and took the key out and it keeps blowing air... until the Battery drains:
- IT BLOWS AS LONG AS BATTERY IS CONNECTED UNTIL DRAINED
-IT BLOWS EVEN WHEN HUMIDITY IS LOW AND OUTSIDE TEMP IS LOW
- WITHOUT KEY INSIDE IT STILL BLOWS
- REPLACED THE BATTERY NEXT DAY AS SOON AS WIRES CONNECTED IT TURNED ON AGAIN AND PROBLEM CONTINUES
- WHEN ON THE TEMP IS MID GAUGE AND NORMAL
I have cleaned the MAF SENSOR
any ideas?

- Been thanked: 10 times
My 2000 S80 started doing the same thing about two years ago. Could not figure out why, but other owners have had the same problem. I took it to the Volvo dealership and they installed the latest software into the ECU. The problem stopped. This worked for my S80 get use to having oddball items creep up that will have you banging your head against the wall.

ill call the service center on monday and ask them about that thanks kahl.
I was reading it could be a symptom of a bad blower motor resistor. So i checked to see if the ac fan ran on any other speeds and while i could change the temp , the fan would only run on high. Currently I removed the resistor and found corrosion on the metal plate ... i have a multimeter but cant find the normal resistance specs for the s80 blower motor resistor (made by behr).
Well see what they say at the service shop ill have them test it for me.

So Final answer
needed to replace my climate control module to take care of constant blowing
and had to change the blower motor regulator to take care of te speed issure
