Post by sk55 »

guys,

need some help troubleshooting evap leak. googling around said it could be the J hose.. where is this located on s70?

is there a diagram where the valves or solonoids, hoses are located?

should i just replace them all?

or do i need to bring this into the shop to do a smoke test since i dont have one..

Start with the gas cap seal o- ring. Then move to J- hose. Good video on the latter here:

It seems like nine times out of ten that this happens it's the j-hose. If I were you, I'd check that first. It's usually cracked at the elbow. I've heard of people cleaning it and coating the cracks with silicone tub sealer. That's a quick option if you don't think it needs replacing. Just let the silicone sealant cure/dry before driving.
