How to reattach carpeted door panel insert on 1991 Volvo 940?
I have a 1991 Volvo 940 and a donor 1994 960. After nearly completing a successful door panel swap, I ran into a problem. Although I was able to remove it, I mean having difficulty getting the carpeted door panel insert to connect on all 3 white tabs. Specifically, it's the tab nearest to the rear of the car that I can't get. Any suggestions?

Is it item seven in diagram?
Ask a local body shop...
That's the right idea, but not the exact same part. I know I probably should do it, but I'm thinking I might pry out the white anchor tabs, attach them to the grooves in the plastic backing of the carpet insert and push the whole thing into place.

This happened to me after the car sat for 2 years. My 960 had the door come off and the clips wouldn't re-attach. I ended up just sliding the top clips into place and painting some screws grey to screw the door panel into place.
