turbo control boost valve with electronic actuator

Post by rodiram »

Hello forum,
I could not find the answer to this simple question: what is the purpose of the turbo control boost valve with an electronic actuator ?
The valve I mention has the part number 8699233, I can understand that it usually controls a vacuum turbo wastegate but my turbo has an electronic actuator.
I am trying to understand why I have an error code ECM-6810 which translate into VIDA by: signal to high on the turbo actuator. I bought a second hand electronic actuator and still have the same error.
My car: XC90 2006 diesel engine D5: 5244T4, 185 ps
Thank you !

This valve is in fact related to the EGR valve, so is not related to my problem ..

Late answer .. my ECU was dead, the error was not real, had to replace and reprogram the ECU.

rodiram - thanks for following up with the end cause. In the USA we don't see diesels.

Out of curiosity what were the symptoms of your failure? Did the vehicle even run? How did you figure out the ECU failed. Did you use VIDA as your diagnostic tool?
