07 XC 90 Transmission problem - no Drive or Reverse

Post by Figline »

hello
i am new to the forum but have used it a resource for years and have to say it has saved me $000's with all of my Volvo's (240, 245, 760,850,XC70,C30). Thanks MVS!!!
I recently purchased a 2007 XC90, 6spd, 3.2 l with 214K, It was meticulously maintained by the previous owner whom serviced it at the Dealer until 203kM. I have seen the service records and it was by far the best documented maintained vehicle i had ever test driven and purchased.
My problem began when I went in to have a missing part (belly Pan) installed as part of the deal. I had only driven the car for approx 500km in total and it seemed to be running and shifting OK although a little different from my XC70. While it was there they updated the TCM software. I left the dealer and parked the XC on an incline. I applied the Parking Brake (important??) for the first time since purchasing. When I left my location and put it into reverse, the first new problem surfaced. The Park Assist chirpped continuosly but i thought it might have been the angle to the road. Backing into my driveway later it again chirpped continously. I reported this thinking it might have had something to do with the software. It was dismissed as possibly a dirty or iced up sensor, OK maybe!!!
The next day i pulled out of my driveway in D and noticed that it appeared to be a longer than normal delay in shifting. I pulled over 200ft from my driveway and put it into P waited a few seconds and then put it into D, R and Manual -> nothing -> no engagement and car felt like it was in hanging in Nuetral. Had it towed to dealer and they found nothing wrong the next day (ran 100%), worked only in R the next day and then absolutely nothing as i described the next. No codes!!
A Volvo Field Service Engineer has been dispatched to try and help figure out what is going on.
Any Ideas Please????? (incomplete Software, Park Assist, Park Brake, Neutral Control Function)

just an update...problem still exists. Code has now been thrown TCM P273300 - control solenoid F stuck on

Does anyone know what solenoid F is???

Does anyone have a wiring diagram containing the TCM, Valve Body Solenoids, Gear Shifter etc.... so that I might be able to trace the source of the solenoid that is stuck.

I am thinking it is a wiring, wire-harness or possible solenoid problem.

Dealer wants to go the replace transmission route without much rationale as to what they have actually probed and tested. Not ready to submit without doing my own inquisition..

HELP PLEASE.....

Thanks
