Up for sale is my 1986 240 DL Wagon, black, 4 sp. M46 manual trans plus overdrive. Bone stock B230F 4 cyl engine.
The bad:
It's rusty.
Floorboards are bad, rockers are bad, wheelwells are bad, doors are starting at the bottom seams. Other stuff might be bad too, but I haven't seen it yet.
Worn and cracked driver's seat bottom and dash cover.
Carpet is not so good (due to rotten floorboards).
Cat converter rusted out and fell off a few months ago (not so bad...) I installed a straight filler pipe with muffler tape... so far so good.
A/C does not work. Dash clock does not work. Radio is lousy. Odometer does not work (stopped at 169K miles a couple years ago... probably not quite to 200K actual).
The good:
It runs like a top, and still serves as a daily driver for us.
The car looks good from twenty feet... no dents or scrapes, and the rust hasn't surfaced onto the bodywork.
Tan vinyl interior is good except as noted above.
Fresh brakes, tires, oil, trans oil, gear oil, and fuel line (hose).
2 new headlight lenses (one installed, one on the shelf).
NJ Historical Registration means no inspection.
Everything else works properly... including the overdrive. Very comfortable driver... cruises nicely at 75 on the highway... doesn't pull, vibrate, or wander.
What I'm thinking is that someone here might want the drivetrain, interior bits, or various pieces/parts from the car, but I don't want the hassle of parting it out. Don't ask me for a hubcap... I'm only selling the whole car.
I'm asking $1,000, but will consider reasonable offers.
I'd still be comfortable driving this car to California, so transport should be easy if you're shopping from a distance.
