Check engine light

Post by Djayexodus »

I just got my K&N filter and installed it I left the mass air flow sensor unplugged and drove about 1 mile and the check engine light come on. I pulled over turn the car off and plugged the sensor back in realizing what I had done . I restarted the car and the light is still on , can I reset it by unplugging one side of the battery for a few and then putting it back on?

No, you need a code reader to clear it.
It's possible it may go away by itself after some miles

Has all the bells and whistles.

A 20 USD one will read and clear engine codes - for about 150-200 you can get the AUTEL 500 or up which will read and clear engine, body, SRS, and other codes. One use will pay for the AUTEL one. I have a 20 USD one in every car in my fleet of 6 with 6 drivers. To get keys in our house, you have to pass the 'read the code, google it, and decide if you can drive or call tow truck' test
