Pending P0128 code

I have a pending P0128. I know what it means etc and just replaced the thermostat since the temp guage was reading low too and heater was coolish ...... leads me to believe that the sensor is fine and just the thermostat failing, well the car is 15 years old with 425000kms now.

How long does it usually take for this pending code to clear on its own?


I could clear the code with my scan tool but prefer not to as I have an overdue e-test which the thing has failed once ...... can't seem to complete the drive cycle and get the cat tests to complete. I'm thinking the cat is maybe on its way out but not throwing any codes so I am ignoring. I can get a conditional pass if there are no new codes since the last test ..... hence wanna get rid of the pending P0128.

And having a pending P0128 is not going to help my situation.
