climate control problem

Post by timxc70 »

I recently changed the battery on 2004 xc70 SE.
The climate system now only blows air from the middle and side vents. Footwell and screen vents are doing nothing. Also, the air is cold. Nothing changes whatever button I press on the control panel. I have removed the glovebox and can manually push the heater flap open which allows hot air through but it closes when I let go. The actuators all move and click approximately every 10 seconds as if trying to do something. Blower works fine. It seems as though the system has gone into some kind of default mode locking the dampers to the middle and closing the hot air damper.
Is there a simple fix? Would it help to change the control module with one having the same part number?
Thanks

You need VIDA to do the calibration.
first place to start.
