98 V70 FWD Clutch/Transmission

Post by cuhfs »

First Time clutch replacement... Removal of clutch and Transmission (225,000 miles). I am 25 percent into this job so far. Pulled axles, and supported (from above) engine, steering etc. Car is raised and supported safely. Ready to drop sub-frame and I will detach transmission from engine.

Here is where I can use some help. Does anyone have a diagram, picture or other clear instructional for which bolts I need to remove to separate the engine from the transmission. A good photo with the correct bolts circled for example would greatly help idiot proof the process so that only the correct bolts are removed. This link shows instructions I am following but the author did not get specific as to which bolts will separate the trans from engine. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... ch#p199389. Any help identifying the correct bolts to remove for detachment of transmission from the engine would be of great help. Thanks Then that info can be linked to the MVS tutorial shown and can help me and any other brave souls taking on the challenge.

Any bolts that go thru the bell housing and engine will needs to be removed as well as the starter. They are all 14mm head, if I remember correctly.

There are a couple of them on the back that you can't really see, you need to find them by feel.
