302 mm brake upgrade brackets

Post by FastYellow »

I want to upgrade to 302mm brakes all around on my T5R.
I noticed FCP kit doesn't include brackets for the calipers.
Does anybody make these??
Help
Thanks

It's just a front upgrade. The upgrade is:
- Caliper bracket
- Rotors
- Lines

I just did this on my car 2 days ago. The upgrade it mainly to help you avoid brake fade due to heat. If you refresh your fluid, install good pads, and change your old lines, you may not need the upgrade.

Where do I get the brackets since I see Volvo no longer makes them. I got a couple junk yards here locally but I understand that finding them can be a challenge.

Brackets are discontinued on most sites. Search the part number for the 302 brackets ( 8602456 ); there are a few sites out there who are still selling them.

Are you wanting to do the upgrade for performance or visual reasons?

Hmmm, maybe they can't get new brackets any longer.

It will be for performance reasons. My T5R will be my second daily driver I drive about 100 miles daily mixed of highway and twisties. I am trying to find and alternative to stock brakes

As i understand it, upgrading to 302s will mostly just lengthen replacement intervals. They'll last a lot longer. I don't think it does much for braking power.
