Hello Friends,
I drive a volvo v40 2000 model which i got used.
Please I want to know if the Toyota T-IV transmission oil is a suitable substitute for my AW 50-42LE transmission and it can work perfectly ok. I want to replace the oil as a preventive measure. Transmission works perfectly and hasnt given any issue.
I reside in Nigeria and we dont have the volvo OEM transmission fluid available here.
If the Toyota T-IV isnt suitable can someone help me with a suitable specification for a substitute.
Thanks,
Efekemo O.

From my research, Dexron III-Mercon was originally specified for the AW 50-42LE (4-speed).
But Toyota Type IV or Mobil 3309 is also compatible.
