$15 Keyless Entry Solution

I recently scored a '98 S90 which of course came without any remote keyfobs. Being the cheapskate that I am, I started looking for alternatives to $50+ keyfobs. I came across a Bulldog keyless entry system on Amazon for $14.95 and figured I'd give it a try. After just a little work finding the wires, it works like a charm. I now have two remotes for 1/4 of the price of one original Volvo remote.

For anyone looking to do the same, all wires can be accessed in the left drivers side kick panel. There's a connector up in there that feeds the door. The following connections were found on the Bulldog site and worked perfectly.

Keyless Module --- Wire Harness
Red --- Positive (I used the Green/Red on the harness)
Black --- Ground
Purple --- Ground
Purple/Black --- Ground
Blue/Black --- Green/Black (unlock)
Green/Black --- Brown/Black (lock)

The remotes also have a programming feature that allows you to set a .7 second double click, which is what you need to unlock. Otherwise you need to press unlock twice slowly.
