2007 s80 3.2
2007 s80 3.2
I have owned many volvos over the years (740, 850, v70, c70). I am now in the market for a newer car and came across a 2007 s80 with the naturally aspirated 3.2 6 cylinder motor at our local Volvo dealer. It has plenty of miles (170K) but looks great and has a full set of service records. My main concern is that the car is overly complicated (C4 suspension and other stuff). Are these generally OK? Are there any performance mods available? It seems a bit slow, even with the 6 cylinder motor, at least in comparison to our v70 2.5T.
I too have owned a few Volvos in the past 15 years. 745T, 855T, 945T, and now an '08 V70 3.2. Comparing the 3.2 to my recently sold 220,000 mile 2.3l 855T is apples and oranges. I'm quite satisfied with the 3.2 V70 even with four adults, luggage and the dog in the back. As far as performance mods for the 3.2, I haven't run across many (any). If I were considering a 170k (miles I presume) car, the first step would be confirming "stage zero." Proper fuel pressure, compression, leak down, etc. In the end, an option to the 3.2 would be look for a T6?
I'm looking for an '07 - '10 S80 for my daughter's first car and want the 3.2 for her. There are hundreds of them out there. Check carguru.com, cars.com, craiglist in surrounding states. A lot to choose from.
Cheers,
