Mass oil leak-v70 2003 2.4t

While driving, the car sprays out all its oil on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Any ideas where to start looking or if worth diving in to try and fix? While not primary leak, it appears oil also was forced out of the fill cap. No leaking when car is off. How do i even look to see where oil coming from.

You have a clogged PCV system because of bad oil change history. $350 in parts and about 8 hours of labor. Plus the seals and most likely t-belt kit.

IF the pressure gets high enough, you start to pop seals out and spray oil everywhere.

While I know it looks awful, if you had a leak under the car, which isnt nearly as messy, it would cost you 1000-1500 to have the engine removed to fix.

Thanks for suggestions of the issue! Y'all were spot on!!! The cam seal was popped off. Put a rubber glove over the oil filler and it blew the glove up. Pcv must be clogged and thus the pressure popped the cam seal off. I took cover off and could watch the oil spit out. Wish i could figure out how to add pics here

Guess gotta chamge the pcv every 100k regardless. Wow

That's a severely oil change neglected engine. The PCV on P2s doesn't clog like P80s...mine was clear at 175k and didn't really need changing.

So angry at volvo dealership that was supposedly doimg the oil changes. After my mechanic did the camp silver repairs car drove for a day and then we got engine can position sensor error. Mechanic said it's a special tool to adjust the timing he doesn't have Wife said the car just made a noise and won't go over 30 without loud ticking now. Is this a Volvo special kind of timing issue or could I have a wire or something going loose from the repairs that were done

Sorry typo. Meant to say cmp seal repair. Error code came back crank or cam position sensor

With that much sludge in the motor the solenoid for the variable valve timing are almost certainly plugged. Try to get the actual codes, like P1234 , which are much more useful than the descriptions.

I think I would drop,the oil pan on this to clean out sludge. You also have to make sure the passage is cleaned out in the block with repeated insertions of tube or wire. There are some pictures of this on MVS
