Hello everyone!
Sadly, our S40 wouldn't start in Nov of 2015. We were pretty sure it was battery related at the time, but we could not afford a replacement battery. We just got a new battery and put it in, but the car will not start. The car tries to start, but cannot and we suspect it might be due to the car sitting for such a long time (Aprox 5 months). It is very similar in what it is doing like in this video: - except there is pressure. Any suggestions on possible causes and/or things to try?
We're going to have a mobile mechanic come out next week after payday- but hoping in the mean time we can try somethings to possibly save money.

I'm currently having this exact same issue. My 05 s40 5T only sat in the garage for the past 2 days and wouldnt start this morning. It's exactly like the video you linked to. I have zero messages on my dashboard and even had a diagnostic reader hooked up to see if there were any error codes...and there were none. All the fuses are good as well.
Could this be the Pump Electronic Module (PEM)?
