Reman axle damaged tone ring 2000 V70 XC

I just wanted to throw this out in the hope that another owner will not run into this mess. Basicly a reman axle from FCP, started as a Volvo axle then remanufactured to some type of tolerance. Upon installing on the car the ABS lights up. After several hours beating head on the pavement came across the tone ring was damaged. In the picture I hope you can see the impact on several of the lines. The ring is fragile, light tapping will remove and install.

The rest of the axle looks well put together with no play.

Did replacing it solve the problem?

Ouch! That is not a small job either so it must suck to have to pull the axle out again.

Changing the tone ring did solve the problem.
