I recently read a post where someone was able to remove and replace the ball joints by unbolting and rotating the steering knuckle. Has anyone else done this? I'm replacing the ball joints and wondered if this would be easier.
If so does anyone have a write up/directions on how this is done?
I was hoping to not have to remove the knuckle in it's entirety.
Thank you.

You may try to turn a little the lower bolt, without holding the rod inside. Just the bolt with a ratchet. If you are lucky and it moves, then the ball joint will pop out when you loosen the bolt.
