I'm driving a 2005 V70 SE. Manual. When I first bought the car about 17 months ago their was no sign of any lamp. Then one day after owning it for about 12 months it cam on and went off. .. weeks would pass and nothing. Then out of nowhere it would come on again. But it always seemed to go out after leaving the car off for a while. Seemed to reset itself.
Lately thought it comes on regular enough and this morning when going into work there was no sign of it.
The car was parked for the best part of 4 hours with being started id moved. When I came out for lunch and startedthe car it came on straight away. Now the weird thing is it might not come on at all at times but if I leave the car idling for any length of time it comes on.
Today as I said it illuminates at lunchtime but it was a warm day as well which leads me to believe that heat is causing the issue.
But where do i start.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I would have the codes read to determine the wheel that cause the problem. Then you can look at the sensor for dirt, wire chafing, connector condition & continuity.
At the same time inspect carefully the front tone rings for a split. They are located at the ends of the drive axles.
Here is a generic view of a split tone ring.

If it is the case, see how to replace it. Ford Escape front end configuration is very similar to Volvo P2.
Last I would investigate the ABS module.

Cheers Pal. All checked and all good.
Just for anyone that might come across this again at some stage, I separated the brake control module from the ABS unit have it a good clean and also put a few spacers between it when reinstalling it.
No light on get and it's been a few days since. Hopefully fingers crossed it's sorted.

I'm having similar issues in our 04.
BCM-0700 for a pump circuit open.
Happens when it's warmer out. happens randomly. Will stay off for weeks.
I'm seeing that there is a post that inserts up t power the pump and I suspect that it has poor connections in the BCM.
