850 AWD Engine (Ignition) cut at 2000 Rpm

Post by coolpilot »

Hello,
I have a problem on my 850 awd 1997. The engine cut (ignition?), at constant speed, about 2000 rpm. If I accelerate frankly, it does not. constant speed this causes many cuts.
The dealer, fault codes indicate to change Secondary air pump and probe air pressure.
I installed a new pump and an opportunity functional probe.
Do you have an idea of the problem please?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry if I make mistakes, I use a translator ...
Best regards

It's a little hard to understand exactly what the problem is without more info. Do you have the codes that the dealer pulled? Can you read your codes yourself? You should be able to use pretty generic code readers on your '97.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks, and also, what engine do you have? Turbo, NA, etc...

Hello,
I do not have the codes. This is the dealer who owns the diagnostic.
Engine starts working. But to about 2,000 rpm, rolling at constant speed, there are closely spaced ignition cuts.
I controlled what I see, air hoses, electrical wire ...
Sorry. Home in the 850 awd all have the 2.4 engine 193 Hp Turbo LPT.
Greetings

First off, call your dealer to get the codes they pulled. They should have that on record, for disputes over work and warranties and such. If you can't get them from there, have your codes read again, and let's see what you got. This could be a lot of things, and without somewhere to start, it's hard to, well, start...

A bit of a shot in the dark, since your car runs (fine?) on higher and lower RPMs, but have you checked the ignition parts? Distributor cap, rotor, plug cables, spark plugs? Plug cables need to be Bougicord from France, and these cars are particular about their spark plugs as well...
Also, check your ignition coil. They can also go bad and behave strangely in a 19 year old car. :)
