+5v, common feed in ECU?

Post by mrbrian200 »

Sensors showing erratic behavior appear to be those that use a +5v feed from the ECU, not limited to those fed from pin A39 through JP 53/332. For example accelerator pedal uses a +5v from a dedicated ECU wire (I believe?), and it's readings are erratic as well. Hall effect sensors and items fed by B+ seem unaffected. Are various +5v feeds fed internally in the ECU by a common regulator/supply circuit? If I could stab at a best guess I'd say it looks like a bad filter cap or failing regulator IC getting progressively worse over time. Though a bad sensor could be spiking the feed externally if these have a common junction inside the ECU. Is there a list somewhere of all the items that use +5v? Diagram I have (TP 3988202) shows wire connections to/from ECU but not what's on them.
