Exhaust cam timing off, safe to drive?
So, I just had my head gasket replaced and the timing on the exhaust cam seems to have gotten messed up in the process. I figured the check engine light was still on from the misfires I had when the gasket was going. When I got home and threw it on the computer it turns out the exhaust cam is at +16.33° when it should be between -8° and +8°. It didn't seem like it was running bad on the drive home, 3 hours. So, is this something that I can drive back down and have the same guy fix, or should I have it done locally since I could screw something up driving that far?

ask them to send a tow truck to pick it up.
Or tell them they can put a new motor in it when it eats a valve on the way back.
The issue with it being so far advanced is that you may very well burn a valve since it's opening far too early.

I talked to them today and they'll pay to have a local shop get it realigned. Now I just need to find a shop that'll do it.
