Load Bars For V70s with Rails Change @ 2008?

Apparently, "Type 3" V70/V70XCs, 2008 and up, have something different about the roof racks from 2001 - 2007?

Or is it merely a style difference, and all bars fit all side rails 2001-2013?

I ask because I have a 2004 with side rails, and I have come across some load rails that fit a 2008 v70XC.

If it helps, the two part numbers are:

31454721 for P2 cars (2001-2007)
30779107 for P3 cars (2008 and up)

They do look similar to the ones for the 2006 XC70 we have. Check the length of the bars as they may be different You could measure the distance between the 2 end covers )part # 4 in the blow up drawing above). Also check the profile of the rails to ensure they are the same to allow the bars to clamp correctly.
