Cam gear lining up after I started engine
Cam gear lining up after I started engine
I just changed the exhaust cam front seal, not thinking I did not use the tool to lock the cam gears, prior to taking off gear to change seal. I had realized my mistake, and thought I lined up the gear to cam ok. Before I thought of even starting engine, I rotated it several times with no resistance. After feeling confident that I had lined up my gear properly, I then started engine with no problems at all. I then drove it down the road, and when I tried to accelerate, I had a little stumble, never stalled, but I knew what I had done. I have since gotten the tool to lock cams in place, but I have found that I also have to move the intake cam to line the tool up. I did remove timing belt, and loosened the cam bolt from the rear cam, which I had done previously to change the seal. I am a little confused as to what I am doing is correct. I really don't want to put this together again, just to have to do it all over. Can someone help. Thank you
