I have a 2000 Volvo S 80 Nonturbo, with 167,000 miles, the transmission does not slip when it's cold, but when it gets warm and you accelerate from a stop somewhere about 2200 RPMs it will raise up to 3000, slipping out of gear, if you release the gas it will go back into gear. Any ideas on A fix? Or the transmission just worn? there is a local u-pull- it, is is a job I could take on myself? Or is it pretty major ? And lastly if I go do all the work of swapping it out, is it likely the one in the junkyard for slip also? Thanks
I have a 1999 S80 with a good transmission if you're looking to buy one. You might not want to go all the way to central Alabama for it but you can drive the car and try it out first so you know what you're buying. Tires on it are almost brand new so that's a bonus.
