2009 XC70 Rear Latch Won't Open

Working on a 09 XC70 and the trunk won't open. Apparently they decided to do away with the key holes for manual opening. When trying to open the door, there is a noise as if it is unlocking, but just doesn't open. It's as if the latch is stuck. Checked in VIDA and everything seems to check out fine (Cannot use VIDA to unlatch either). Any solutions or ideas are greatly appreciated.

After about 4 hours, the door is finally open. It looks like the cable that unlatched wasn't getting pulled back far enough. Sounds easy, pull the cable more. Didn't work with this vehicle. We had to take the interior panel off the truck.On the bottom of the motor, just to the right of the middle of it, we drilled and opened a small 1x1 inch hole where the cable goes down to the latch. From there, was able to get enough grip on the latch to force it open. We are replacing the whole part now. Hope this helps someone in the future.
