I wanted to update my experience with a cheap hack for the AC compressor. I purchased my V50 t5 with 130000 miles on clock. The AC was part time and usually stopped working in the hottest part of the day when I bought it . when I found out about the bread clip fix, I installed the 3 shims with silcone sealant. I am happy to report that the A/C has Perform flawlessly everday. I know have 202000 miles and it has been 4 years. now thats a good hack.

Yes, this fix is often referred to as the "temporary fix." I appears that the addition of silicone was a great idea!!
