1997 850 NA - Various questions

Started to do some basic work today whilst waiting for parts to arrive. Parts from the dealer arrived today, donated water pump is still in transit and might make it before Canada Post shut down if it happens! Order to FCP is waiting 4th July proceedings to conclude before shipping.

I have a few basic questions, but rather than list them on different threads I'll try them in one so I can link to main thread.

1) Trunk lock - Car has central locking, so should the trunk lid operate from that or does it only work from the key? Currently the later is all that works. All doors work normally. Broken wire in trunk lid hinge or solenoid in the trunk lock?

2) There appears to be dome oil around the throttle body area. Is this possibly a blocked flame trap (now I'm sure I have some still stashed somewhere!).

3) Tried to start the car today to check a bulb out indicator, but turned key and nothing. Car has been sitting for about 10 days. Checked battery and it shows 12.6V. No click, nothing? I've put the battery on a charger for now.

4) What is this? I think it may be a bump stop that sits on top of the bolt that holds the front fender on nearest the windshield. I found it behind the inner fender liner when removing the LH front mud flap. There isn't one on the opposite side. It looks familiar!

If the car have automatic transmission....move the handle up & down a few times fast or just try to start it in "N".
Trunk lock should work with all other locks and all other locks should work when key is turned into a trunk lock.The same for remote locking & unlocking.

Oil around flame trap is about normal on these cars.

Thanks misha. Car is an automatic, and it did feel like the gearshift lever moves too easily without the button on the shifter being depressed.
Trying to remember how to fix that, so suggestions?

Any ideas on the rubber piece?

LOL, my favorite rubber piece. It covers the rear fender bolt under the hood, close to the windshield.
