I have a 2006 XC70 with 155K miles. The gas gauge is working intermittently. Sometimes when you start the car their is no reading on the gauge. If you turn it off and try again it will usually work. Once it's working it may or may not work for the entire trip; it can go to zero while driving. All other gauges on the cluster are working fine. It seems like a loose connection, but nor sure where to look. I know how to remove the DIM but not sure what to do after that.
One more thing, the car drives fine whether the gauge is working or not.

With a scan tool you can monitor both sending units in the vehicle both on the driver side and the passenger side.
If one is faulty you can usually make sense of which one while reading the values.
You can view them on our site here: https://www.fcpeuro.com/Volvo-parts/XC7 ... =20&page=1
