Running lights

Hi All,

I have a '97 854 and have a question about running lights. When I turn my light switch to the 9 o'clock position, the dash lights go out, but the headlights remain on. I have seen other Volvo 850s running without ambers or headlights while driving around. Is this normal behavior for a '97? Possibly some rule that came to be later on in the 850 production run?

I didn't think the selector screw would turn that far, but see if this helps. I assume the switch is the same for all US based P80 cars.
