Hi everyone! I am new in the forum just subscribed... Lately my -- 02' Volvo S40 turbo-- has been experiencing some issues daily such as:
Flashing an orange arrow below the gas indicator! *I have to say that is harder to reach 40 to 50 km/hr while the arrow blinks*
Lately the engine turned off while I am park on a light.
I don´t feel the turbo working properly in high speed freeways.
Due to this I cleaned the VVT Solenoid, ICV valve, change Air filter, A/C filter, replace the TPS sensor, clean the MAF sensor.
Any idea what the problem can be?
Thanks! Appreciate it

Sounds like the transmission is in "limp home" mode.
This can be due to a communication error between the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the main computer or a fault in the transmission itself.
There's not a lot that a shade tree mechanic can do for transmission issues. Try "exercising" the gearshift lever without the car running. This can clean the contacts on the PNP switch. I don't think that's your issue, but it wouldn't hurt anything.

Thanks, I opened the PNP switch and clean it with a (dielectic) formula.alschnertz wrote:Sounds like the transmission is in "limp home" mode.
