2004 Seat CEM Bypass

Damn Volvo and their NannyBot CEM.

I did a seat swap in my Volvo XC70. Since I have the leftover seats, I'd like to do something constructive with them, rather than try to sell them (or send them to the landfill). However, when power is applied to the underseat module, it checks in to see if a CEM--ANY CEM--is connected to it, and if there isn't it won't budge.

Evidently, the underseat module (ALPS ANV971018A) has a logic stop circuit. I would like to bypass that circuit and make the seat move when I actuate the switches. Any advice?

I think I'd find the motor manufacturer and get the motor pin outs and wire in directly

Yeah, after a lot of poking and prodding, I think that's what I'm gonna have to do. Time to dust off my breadboard and fabrication skills!
