Harry's U Pull It Hazelton, PA. Current P80 Inventory

Guys and Gals - I was at Harry's U-Pull-It in West Hazelton doing some parts harvesting yesterday. My observation was that they seemed to have around 12 or so P80 vehicles split about evenly between wagons and sedans. Unfortunately, the bulk of the inventory appears to have ended up there as a result of collision damage, so if you are looking for specific body panels, you may be out of luck. I recall seeing at least one or two good Dark Blue driver doors, and a good black driver door as well. Most of the high-value targets of opportunity -- MAFs, throttle bodies, headlights and some ECUs were gone. There are some XC stye roof racks available. Most of the interiors were trashed. I wouldn't count on scoring leather seats (and certainly not tan ones) from any of the current P80 stock, although there were a few P2 candidates for black/charcoal leather seats. Body colors I recall seeing among P80 and P2 were, in no particular order -- White V70, Silver V70, dark green S70, black S70, dark blue V70. Red S60 -p 2, nice silvery blue XC 70 P2 with black seats and blue zigzag stitching at the seams -- really pretty color body. The white V70 wagon appeared to have a really nice rear bumper cover. At least one car appeared to have a fairly newish master cylinder in it. Forget about carpets/floor mats or that type of thing. I honestly wasn't paying too much attention to wheels 'cause I'm pretty well set in that area, but I think some reasonably nice alloys were available. Most of the glass for virtually every vehicle was complete. A lot of the dashes and interior switch work was pretty well worked over. Most of the coolant reservoirs were trashed, although there was a newish looking reservoir (older style squareish bottle) in one of the 1998s. Also lots of faux wood trim in the current lot of P80 and P2 inventory.

Getting that white bumper cover off could be a bit of a bear since the car is supported in a nose up attitude of about a 20 degree angle making the underside of the rear bumper (an area critical to access to remove the cover) closer to the ground than you might like to attempt the removal work. You might be able to get it however, it just may take some creativity.

I might have short counted the P80 inventory a bit since I basically ignored the 850s, of which there were a few, as being pretty beat. Still, you might score some needed body panels from them. A computerized inventory is listed on line on their website for those not trusting to rely on my anecdotal count. Happy hunting!

P.S. I scored four genuine Volvo headlights with respectable silvering that I might be willing to part with if anybody has a need.

Lucky. There might be 12 in the entire state of Michigan, I rarely bother going anymore.

I don't know exactly how lucky I am, the yard is an hour and 45 min. drive from home. . .

Looks like I won the lottery on this one! I live 1 mile from a pick-n-pull that usually has at least 10 P80's. There's one not too far away in Fremont, CA that sometimes has as many as 30 of them!

They are sometimes pretty beat up, but usually no rust!

I might be heading up to Harry's next week but you might save me a trip; did you happen to notice any manual 850's?

Sorry, no. As I mentioned, I kind of glossed over the 850s since they seemed pretty beat. I definitely did not notice whether any were auto or manual. I think I can save you a trip however, Harry's lists the VIN number of its vehicles in the inventory listing on the website. Can you determine whether a car is equipped with a manual trans by decoding the VIN number? I thought you could, but don't recall the specifics. How to do that, or whether it is even possible is, no doubt, posted on this site.

Based on current inventory, they have 7 850s on site. See if you can decode the VIN #s to confirm manual trans or not.

For what it's worth, Harry's location in Pennsburg has (4) 850's and at least one is a manual.

And if you happen to see a good looking tan drivers seat for a 1998 S70, let me know
