I tried to remove drive side knee booster by removing those 3 13mm nuts. However, knee booster was still tight, not lose at all. It did not look like the same as passenger side. How can we remove it ?

Thanks.

Should have a bolt or 2 going into the center console bracket.

Do you have a picture or drawing to show where that bolt/bolts located ? "center bracket" - where is that ?

Thanks.

I think there is a fourth nut just above the middle one. I remember having an issue removing the driver's side knee bolster on my V70.

Those 3 nuts are on 2 sides of booster, similar to passenger side. So there is fourth nut in the mid-section of booster ? Let me take a look later ...

Thanks.

That's right. Take a close look around, I'm pretty sure there was one that was hiding in there near the top.

There are only 3 nuts. 2 on the outer side by the door and 1 in the middle. The '4th' nut is not there. The 4th hole is a kind of ratcheted thread in the knee bolster. A hard tug will usually get them to drop. A little bit of brute force is required to get it to clear the 2 sides.

I looked at the booster again last night, definitely only 3 nuts. Two on the door side and one on the heater core side. I could not feel/find any other nuts in the mid-section of back side. Still it was very very tight to move after 3 nuts were removed. It felt like that it was still hold by more nuts !

Thanks.

Nope, definitely only the 3 nuts holds it in, but there are 4 studs, and they act like a brake on the knee bolster to reduce the chance of it coming off in an accident.

You just have to give it a good hard pull or see if you can get a lever in near the studs to help it on its way.
