Nivomat part substitution

On my new to me 98 V70XC the Nivomats are completely shot. This car has a "M" in position 18 on the data plate so it takes the green striped Nivomat P/N 8626027. I can get a set of serviceable yellow stripe Nivomats at a considerable saving versus new. Does anyone know what characteristics will be revealed by using a different Nivomat?

Color is normally the deciding factor for me. I have had green striped Nivomats with different part #'s but they were the old and new part numbers Similarly the same with yellow striped.

My 'R' has green striped Nivomats part # 9200616 (now part # 8626027) which is listed for chassis plates marked 7, M and 4 as do the AWD versions. They are shorter. Your car should have a different part number I believe is one digit different (was # 9200014 and now) # 8626026. So I would have expected you chassis plate to have the 4th digit of a #6. I know you know your Volvos, but you sure you haven't got an AWD rather than a V70XC?

I will stick with the green striped Nivomat as dictated by the data plate. On visual inspection the car has a yellow Nivomat on the left and a green Nivomat on the right. Both are completely blown out.
The cars title and rear hatch identifies this car as a 98 V70XC. It is identical to my daughters 98 AWD.
