850 GLT 1992 aut.transmission problem still

Post by jantt »

Hi

Thought I had found the transmission problem in tuning chips, but sadly not.
Had driven for a month without tuning chips and no transmission problem, so thought problem was solved.
Sunday and monday problem came back.
When I take speed of at red light the engine/gearbox starts to shudder and rpm drops. It lasts for 5-10 sec and stops.
It can happen one time when I am out to drive and normaly only happens once on one trip and don`t come back.
It can happen 2-3 times a week and then not for a couple of weeks.
Have changed engine speedsensor and rpm speedsensor (there are 2 sensors in gearbox.
Have cleaned gearbox with 12 liter oil.
There are no fauld codes.
Trottlehouse is cleaned.
Sparksplugs, cap/rotor, cables changed last year.
Is it the converter, hanging solenoid or something from the engine ?

Going crazy. Please help.

Has also changed idle solenoid last year and tried with other ecu.

Could it be a bad wiring connection ?

Jantt..do I understand that the car shudders as you come up to a red light, while coasting down?

It`s still in D when it happens and sometimes I have time to put it in N and then it stops and back to D and it starts again.

It`s not a perment problem so diffecult to find.

Thinking about checking every wire for bad connection.

As I understand then solenoid SL is controlling the lockup in the converter.
Could it be that one that is the fauld ?
Can see here that is possible to change it without dropping the frame : https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=65527
