Unity brand shock absorber - Advise

Post by Turbo_Boss »

Hello Guys

I have a 2008 XC90 3.2AWD

One of my front shock absorber is leaking oil so I have to replace them.

I was checking on ebay

I found the Bilstein 22-170729 and Sachs 314125 for around US$ 120.oo each one. These are only the strut along and I need to buy separately Front Shock Strut Mounts bearing Plate, coil Spring Seat.

I also find the UNITY 11485A/11486A “complete assembly” that’s comes fully assembled with all the parts ready to install for US$ 267.50

Have any of you has installed this UNITY brand?

What’s your advise

THX

Isaac

Did you end up with the unity struts? I have seen much opinion with no actual info on the struts . Hoping to find someone that has ACTUALLY installed and driven on them.

Don't touch anything else but Sachs when it comes to suspension parts for Volvo, or you'll be doing the job again in 6 months.
Try asking these guys if they have something for the XC90

Actually Sachs or Bilstein.

Bilstein has 2 flavors: Touring (close to stock) and HD (firm ride).

Whatever you do, don’t buy a car with a high end suspension on it or you will be selling organs for the rest of your cars soon

Here you can see the SACHS Rear Shock Absorber already mounted.

Don't be fooled by the size (Thickness) of the Shock Absorber. This thing is working awesome!

.....
