BTW a time capsule I just bought

Post by JRL »

I just bought this. I'm not sure yet what I plan to do with it. Right now after a new T belt, fluids exchange etc etc, will be done ASAP. After that it's going on my dealer's showroom floor for a while and see what happens.
This is a GLT SE. Only missing option are the foglights.
Naturally if anyone wants to spend a ton of money for what may be one of the "newest" S70s anywhere in existence, feel free to contact me.
Anything is for sale at the right price! 8)

That is truly a beauty Jim. I know you don't need it but how often will a car come along that that?

Not in a position anymore to just collect cars that should not really be driven very much (in my care).

Nice car!

I know a guy who has almost the same car. It's a 2000 GLT SE in silver but with charcoal interior and with 35k on it. I couldn't believe my eyes when he showed it to me because the thing looks like it just came out of the showroom.

He gave me first dibs if he ever sells it, but then again, what do you do with a car like that?

Is there a Volvo museum somewhere? That's where it belongs.
98' S70, base, 5-speed manual, pewter/ tan, 145k miles

58' Porsche Diesel Junior
13' Honda Odyssey
84' Mercedes 300 D, gold/ tan, 420k miles (retirement project :D )

Nice find.

Btw, some guy in Hungary is trying to sell a 96 R wagon with 9.600km on the odo for 40.000 Euros. As much as I´d want to have a brand new 96R besides my 200.000 miles 96 R, 40.000 for a car that most probably has severe damage from being non-op for a Long time is jsut too much.

Hope you paid alot less for it.

Bingo. Too nice for a daily driver... so that leaves a "weekender" car. But why would you want an unexciting 17-year-old sedan for a weekend car? Get an old 302 Ford rat rod, or a Mopar 340, or a 1960 MGB, or a '72 Coup De Ville or something.

Dirk
It's always yours if you want it and I WILL fix the door panels if necessary.
All you need to do is ask.
I will guarantee you this one is nicer, look at the rest of the pictures

Unexiting?
Have you ever driven an LT that has a tune. A completely different car, fun, fun!
You also can install some ipd bars, that does not change anything from the value and then it will handle
I have some very good 16" wheels and tires on our V70 R and it handles very well
You're wrong

Compared to any of the four cars I listed, it's as boring as watching static on a tv from the third row seat.
