93 940 wagon - floor and firewall heat soak

Post by tranmkp »

From what I can tell my exhaust is all stock - I was re-fixing my AC leak (caused by sweat and fixed by putting a little gutter and a tube) BUT i notice when i remove my carpet on the passenger side the upper and lower part of the trans hump and part of the floor are freaking hot. I guess 150-170 degrees. I have the heat shield, it all looks intact Any ideas? I can use some header wrap if necessary..

Air flows over and around engine and then downward under body.

So, keep vehicle moving to remove heat better.

I've never looked at mine, but its stock. My AC is disconnected, and in summer heat, I was not aware of a heat issue.
