Greetings All

Post by Marauder 1 »

Let me first say I'm glad to be here and as a new 2001 Volvo V70 owner I'm sure I'll be requesting information often, I also hope to contribute as well. I've been a car guys for years I'm currently restoring a 1969 Mustang that a lady at church wanted to get rid of. I've also owned a "Lumped" 1975 Jaguar that I fully restored. Unfortunately it was broken into while I was on a vacation and the car was gutted.

I've been looking at purchasing a Volvo for some time but I finally jumped in when I had the chance to purchased this 2001 V70 2.4T with 125,000 miles on her. The Carfax was clean as far as accidents and it had only 1 owner had all the services done that I could see by Volvo. The car looks really nice minus a few minor issues here and there but she seems mechanically sound.

I was looking the car over today and noticed that there what looks to have been a rubber strip that runs from the gap at the top of the front fender on to the lower part of the windshield. Most of that is gone now but 2 plastic pins that held it in place are still there along with some of the remaining strip. I don't have a book on the car yet so bear with me if I use the wrong terms. Is this piece still available?

Thanks again and I'm glad to be a member here and also the Volvo brotherhood.
Mark

Rubber is a part of the roof/windshield strip.
Not made anymore
Depending on the color, a few are still around, (they're expensive)

Mark,

I need the same thing for my car.

Check out item #30 in this parts breakdown:

http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/showA ... veLine=464

It should still be available through a dealer - not too expensive.
