2000 V70R - windshield washer pipe routing

Post by scot850 »

This fricking car continues to drive me madder by the minute! For some reason I noticed when I open the hood there was a strange noise from the RH hood hinge area. It appears the RH hood hinge is trapping the windshield washer feed pipe in the hinge area. Why this is doing this now when I have never touched this in 4 years of ownership I will never know.

Can someone please take a photo of how the piping should be routed in the hinge area for me so I can see why it is catching. I can see one of the clips is broken but I don't think that is why it is getting caught. I think the piping is routed and clipped wrongly allowing it to get caught as the hinge collapses down when closing.

It is like why is the LH hood latch now being a pain. I adjusted it so it opened 20 times in a row, but next time I went to use it is jammed again until downward pressure was applied. I have now adjusted the latch position downward 3-4mm as per an old witness mark on the latch on the 3 holding bolts and now it is opening ok again.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Neil.

Thanks Lee. That is exactly as mine is routed. Only issue then is the clip in the middle of the picture on mine is broken where the pipe turns 90 degrees. For some reason the pipe section with the clip on the moving arm to the right of that clip is getting caught on the flanged section to the left as viewed of the 90 degree turn and just beyond the middle clip. It is just plain weird!

I'll get new clips and see if that fixes the issue once they are installed.
