What is a Japanese manifold?

Here https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... p?p=419401 tryingbe just sold one.

P80 R exhaust manifolds = P2 2.5T manifolds, apparently, so if you're looking for an R manifold you don't have to limit yourself to rare R pieces. Note I don't know if this is physical equal, or end result flow calculation equal.

But Japanese? Never heard of it until tryingbe's FS post above.

But it IS from Japan.

Casting says JAPAN on it!

Three manifolds for T5. I don't remember the year exactly.

94-2000 crack(s) at the collector is usual.
01-04 (Japanese) casting seems cleaner, and usually no crack
05+ (R manifold) used by R and non R cars, 2 lbs lighter, I believe, usually no crack.
