Help, Advice, Owners' Discussion and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's stylish, distinctive P2 platform cars sold as model years 2001-2007 (North American market year designations).
Few weeks ago I started getting the warnings that the rear hatch was open. Last night the alarm started going off for no reason. Happened twice so I knew it must be that the car thought the rear gate was getting opened after the alarm was armed. Based on this thread: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... ch#p236573 I knew it must be related.
Today I opened up the wiring and found this:
The pink wire was completely separated, and several of the others were nearly there as well. I reconnected them and taped up best I could and all is well now.
Yeah, 2007. California car, pretty gently used too.
I released the loom from the ziptie that connected it onto the inside of the D pillar. My theory is that will allow the wires to bend on a larger arc and not so sharply which may have led to the fatigue at the bend.
