2000 V70XC Gas Pedal Removal

Post by JadeRose »

Seems like a dumb question but I'm bypassing the Heater hose disconnect and I can't get the gas pedal off. It appears to be held on by a T 20 torx but I can't tell if it's regular or reverse thread and I'm afraid of breaking it if I use push too hard either way. Anyone know this comes off? Also, can I remove the gas pedal position sensor and then put it back on with the existing nuts/bolts? I saw on a different website these are self locking and can't be reused. That true?

Meh...never mind. After looking at it completely, I realize the whole thing has to come out.

Glad you got is figured out, as I was going to say it is easier on the later cars just to pull the whole assembly.

I think it's to M6 nuts to remove the entire assembly. That's what I recall from my heater core job

Ah..now I remember why this stuck in memory..

You need a deep socket 10 mm to get the nuts off the top two or spend an unpleasant hour under the dash with a box end
